Thiourea Physical Properties

The physical properties of thiourea are related to classical Chinese creations as follows:

Thiourea is white and crystalline, usually in the shape of powder or granules. It is peaceful and stable at room temperature. Its taste is slightly special, not pungent, and it is not fragrant.

Looking at its melting point, it is about 180 degrees. When heated to this point, it melts into a liquid. As for the boiling point, it is very high, and unusual temperatures can cause it to vaporize.

Thiourea has a certain solubility in water and can slowly dissolve into it, and its solution is weak. In organic solvents, there are also different solubilities, such as in ethanol, which can be moderately soluble, while in ether, the solubility is slightly inferior.

Its density is moderate, and it feels slightly heavy. And it has a certain degree of hygroscopicity. If it is placed in a place with high humidity for a long time, it is easy to absorb water vapor, causing its shape to change slightly.
